The County of Wetaskiwin No. 10 provides a variety of cultural and recreational opportunities to enthusiasts of every kind. Whether you are looking to spend some time golfing, fishing, sightseeing, camping, shopping or taking in a sporting or cultural event, our municipality has something for you. Throughout the area there are:

We welcome and encourage visitors to travel to one, or all, of the following locations we are suggesting below, or create your own route from the County Map.


West: West of Highway 20 you can enjoy quiet country events in the Hamlets of Winfield, Buck Lake and Alder Flats. Visit Em-Te Town #32, an authentic western town tourist attraction open year round. Recreation and fishing opportunities abound at Buck Lake and you can camp at the County’s campground #52 Buck Lake Park, the Lions Pioneer Park #54 at Winfield or one of the provincial or private campgrounds in the area. In the winter you can enjoy nature on the scenic Rose Creek Cross Country Ski Trail #37.


Central: In the central area between Highway QE 2 and 20 the Kiskayo Trail #36 runs around Pigeon Lake. Start your adventure by visiting the Mulhurst Bay Memorial Park, located in Mulhurst Bay, and view the map of the trail before you set off. There are many quaint shops and restaurants located in Mulhurst Bay, the Village at Pigeon Lake and Westerose for you to browse in. Spend a few days in one of the County campgrounds in the area #51 Battle Lake or #53 Mound Red Park or one of the provincial or private campgrounds and take in a round of golf at one of the five golf courses.


East: from Highway QE 2 travel east on 616 and visit #38 Agri Farm Tours, continue east and take in a round of golf at one of the four golf courses in the area. Travel to the south-eastern part of the County off of Highway 2A on Secondary Highway 613 and 822 and visit #31 Alberta Central Railway Museum. If you like to camp take in the tranquil Red Deer Lake Park #55 operated by the County of Wetaskiwin or one of the private campgrounds located in the area. In the winter you can enjoy a trip down the slope at the Gwynne Valley Ski Area #33.
